The launch of aloktsainimd.com
A lot of people close to me have been wondering why I decided to launch my own website. So, I thought I’d take a few minutes to share the many reasons why I am excited to be building a site dedicated to my practice and to my patients.
A little background info will help you understand my motivation to build something that I hope will help me improve the experience that patients have when they are or will be seeing me. I like to think of myself as a creative problem solver who is very detail oriented. I also truly enjoy all kinds of technology, because technology can transform the way we do things and streamline so many of our processes. These are the things that led me to pursue rhinology in the first place. Rhinology, as a field, is based upon technological advancement. What we were once doing with a headlight and nasal speculum has become obsolete due to advancements in endoscopy. We now have endoscopes and instruments that allow us to visualize and operate inside the nose and sinuses with precision. The technological advancements allows us to come up with innovative solutions for all kinds of nasal, sinus, eye, and brain problems. This is why I find rhinology so interesting.
I chose to start my rhinology practice in an academic center at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY, because I wanted to care for the most complex nasal and sinus problems there are. Certain types of cases that I do can’t be done or aren’t done frequently at many other hospitals. This is the nature of a tertiary care academic center. However, in such a large institution, it can be hard to focus on each individual patient experience. That is where this website comes in. I wanted to find a way to optimize each patient’s experience with my practice. My goal is to provide insight into who I am and how I plan to treat patients. I also want to provide reliable information regarding nasal and sinus problems, and to demonstrate examples of the type of work I do. Over time, I hope to incorporate different aspects of the website into the clinic visit in order to optimize and enhance each patient’s experience with me. I’m sure it will take time for all of this to come to fruition, but I have every intention of finding innovative ways to provide my patients with the best clinical experience possible.
